Well, here we go, Texas Barbecue! Round 2 of the People’s Choice Awards for the Best Pork Ribs in Texas is officially underway. You voted, and your favorites have advanced. Some matchups came right down to the wire, while others were decided by a much wider margin.
The strongest-performing brackets in Round 1 were East Texas and Southwest Texas. In both regions, all but one of the higher-seeded businesses advanced to the next round.
Central Texas led the way in overall voter participation, producing the highest vote totals of any bracket. Those old football rivalries between Cameron and Rockdale showed up in a big way, with multiple matchups receiving more than 100 votes each.
North Texas proved to be the most competitive region, featuring the hardest-fought battles and the highest number of one- and two-vote victories in the entire competition.
