The Texas Barbecue People’s Choice Awards – Best Pork Ribs in Texas has completed regional competition, and the winners from each bracket have earned their place in the Final Four. Congratulations to all of our regional champions, and congratulations to every great barbecue business that has competed along the way.

So, let’s get right to the four champions that will battle it out this week in the Final Four.

In the Central Texas region, Hecho En Texas Barbeque out of Cameron has been storming through the brackets with the highest vote total of any business in the competition, and this week saw no change as they got past Snow’s BBQ in Lexington with another strong finish. I look for another large vote count from them this week. Congratulations, Hecho En Texas Barbeque. The people have chosen your business as having the best pork ribs in all of Central Texas. In the Final Four, you will face off against the Southwest Texas champion.

In the Southwest Texas region, Schulze’s Pit Room of Seguin surged to victory over 2M Smokehouse in San Antonio and finished regionals with the second-highest vote total of any business in the competition. Congratulations, Schulze’s Pit Room. The people of the Southwest Texas region have chosen your business as having the best pork ribs in all of Southwest Texas. In the Final Four, you will face off against the Central Texas champion.

In the North Texas region, Panther City BBQ of Fort Worth slipped past Zavala’s Barbecue of Grand Prairie in a hard-fought battle to earn its spot in the Final Four. Panther City BBQ is a well-established business with a strong fan base, and they stand a good chance of moving forward. Congratulations, Panther City BBQ. The people have chosen your business as having the best pork ribs in the North Texas region. You will now face off against the East Texas champion.

Finally, in the East Texas region, Mimsy’s Craft Barbecue & Steakhouse won its battle against 1775 Texas Pit BBQ out of College Station. This was another hard-fought battle, but in the end, the dynamic duo from Crockett, Texas, pulled it out. Congratulations, Mimsy’s Craft Barbecue & Steakhouse. The people have chosen your business as having the best pork ribs in the East Texas region. You will now face off against the North Texas champion.

Again, congratulations to everyone who has battled it out so far, and congratulations to all four regional champions. Just one word of advice: Get your fan base ready, because you are now competing in the Texas Barbecue People’s Choice Awards – Best Pork Ribs in Texas Final Four. The competition only gets tougher from here, and every vote will matter. Good luck to all four champions.
